Update Highlights

🖥️ Improved: Server Hub

This update adds major performance improvements to the server hub, especially for those running lower-end hardware.

~ 🏃 Optimisation

The leaderboards page has had its first optimisation pass, significantly improving overall UI responsiveness and smoothness, as well as the rewards page receiving some TLC too.

All instances of player avatars (in leaderboards, groups, parties, etc) now render and load much faster, also boosting the responsiveness of the entire hub.

The server hub tutorial system (and its hints) was removed in favour of optimisation. A new version of this will be added back in future iterations of the hub.

~ 🧱 Layout Improvements

We've removed the menu attached to your player name and avatar in the bottom-left and replaced it with the buttons at the middle bottom of the window. This improves discoverability for those pages that were previously hidden away in an obscure spot of the hub.

For the groups, leaderboards, punishments and sessions pages, we've improved the design of the UI to fit with the overall theme of the hub more.

We intend to further improve the layout of the hub to be easier to understand, but for now, this is all we have to show.

🏆 Improved: Zone Leaderboards

There was a bug that caused the on-screen zone leaderboard to not update properly when you changed drift zones. This gave the impression that there was a single leaderboard for all zones, which isn't the case.

This bug is now fixed and zone leaderboards should switch accordingly. We will also be improving zone leaderboards in a future update, making them much faster and more accurate.

🚙 Improved: Handling Editor

We've added the following fields back to the handling editor:

  • nInitialDriveGears
  • fTractionSpringDeltaMax
  • vecCentreOfMassOffset (advanced)
  • vecInertiaMultiplier (advanced)
  • fRocketBoostCapacity (advanced)
  • fBoostMaxSpeed (advanced)

The above fields that are labelled as "advanced" will only appear in the editor if you've enabled the "Show advanced fields" under the settings menu of the handling editor!

⭕ Improved: Zones

In this update, we've added support for dynamically loading and unloading custom maps upon entering their zones. This removes the need to teleport to a custom map in order for it to load, and allows you to just noclip to it or teleport to a player within it instead.

This isn't a finished feature so there may be some weird behaviour while we iron it out completely.

~ 🔂 Drift Zones

We've added a new feature to drift zones to counter the trolls that have been ruining your drift scores - it works by automatically deleting your vehicle when you exit out of it.

This prevents players from leaving vehicles in the middle of the track or road, causing issues for others that are trying to drift there.

😎 Improved: Notifications

We've tweaked the look and feel of notifications in the top-right to be more visible in light and bright scenes. The previous design had too much transparency going on which caused issues when reading text. The layout has also been improved, though that is less noticeable.

🌟 Improved: Ultimate Supporter

We've increased the max party member limit for Ultimate Supporters from 75 to 128.

The reasoning behind this change is pretty simple:

The Ultimate Supporter package is the final package, and 128 is the game engines limit of rendering players. With the introduction of party zones in this update, it makes sense to allow Ultimate Supporters to take full advantage of that limit by using them.

💯 Balanced: Drift XP

We've tweaked the amount of XP that you get from drifting from 1 XP per 5k score to 1 XP per 15k score.

This brings drifting in-line with other server activities (such as Minigame races) that should offer a higher amount of XP for winning in a competitive environment compared to casually and passively gaining XP.

🩻 Fixed: Images

Some images in the server were failing to load after Imgur, the image host that we use, started rate limiting requests from FiveM clients.

We've moved these images to our own CDN now (as we should have done in the first place) and they should as such load faster and more reliably.

🎉 Fixed: Group Invites

We've fixed two major bugs with the group invite command through our Discord bot, allowing you to invite members who were previously invited to your group.

The issue was a combination of two that have now been fixed, one related to improper error handling due to an oversight in our internal API.

👘 New Content: Clothing
